Personality:
Being the light of his mother's life has certainly not done Floodstream any favors. Well, egotistically speaking anyway. He used to be embarrassed that his mother always coddled him so, but he grew used to it as he became older.
He sees she-cats as something to be protected, not exactly equals, and is appalled at the fact that all the leadership positions within the Clan are held by she-cats. He and his cohort of tom friends often remark on this, but they are young, so they are allowed to get away with it. He is prone to take leadership positions (bossy as heck), and can be patronizing to she-cats in general.
Can be possessive of things he considers "his", such as friends and love interests.
History:
Raised along side Cedarclaw, who he thought was his blood brother. He has only ever known his life in RiverClan and has no inkling that he is actually a full-blooded ThunderClan cat. Back when he was born, the river that borders RiverClan and ThunderClan flooded to such an extent that the ThunderClan nursery was washed out. Poor little kit that he was, he could only cling to the debris as he was swept along through the forest and into RiverClan territory.
His parents and his true Clan had given him up for dead, but Mapleshine, Cedarclaw's mother and a queen at the time, took him in. Mapleshine took the appearance of the kit as a gift from StarClan for taking another one of her kits with sickness. When questioned on the appearance of the newest addition, Mapleshine insisted that she had always had three kits, one of which died, but two healthy little toms. Due to the chaotic flooding around that time, it was accepted that one had simply been overlooked. The old medicine cat, Minnowstep's mentor, was not convinced and remembered the kitting. But she would not begrudge Mapleshine of this one kit in exchange for the one she lost to illness, and kept the secret to herself. For the most part.
During his apprenticeship, he admired Owlpaw, later Owlclaw, and became friends with the tom. When Owlclaw was exiled for abusing Minnowstep, Floodstream was disbelieving. He could not reconcile the cat he thought he knew with who they were claiming he was when no other cat was around. He (not so secretly) blames Minnowstep for the exile of his friend, even going as far to claim that Minnowstep's wounds had been self inflicted.
So, Floodkit was named for the flood that struck RiverClan that year, and everything was perfectly normal from then on. He grew up doted on by his mother especially, but Cedarclaw didn't resent him for it, being a more independent type anyway. The brothers were as close as brothers could be, often quarreling but always ready to defend the other. Floodstream was not at the border fight when Cedarclaw and his brother's mate, Mothshine, were killed. He is deeply wounded by the loss and is still grieving, having lost his "father" only a moon earlier to the famine.
