Personality: Always got a smile on his face and laughter in his heart, Driftfoot is a very easy going type of tom. He enjoys shirking his duties and longs for galavanting with Ottersplash at odd hours of the night but is confined by his bum leg. This is the only thing that disheartens him in life. That, and his older mate Poplarwind, an overbearing and flighty she-cat.
History:
Born to two healthy cats, Mudkit was destined for a life of ease from the start. Everything was beautiful and captivating. Life was good, and he couldn't wait to be an apprentice. Mudkit was named for his brownish fur, the pattern of his tabby marks making him look "muddy" constantly.
Apprenticeship was good and everything was going great for Mudpaw until one of Otterpaw's adventures. He and his brother enjoyed sneaking out of camp together to amuse themselves, but this day was a little different. There was a flash flood, filling the stream with more water and much more debris than either of the brothers expected. While Otterpaw confidently dodged the twigs and occasional branches, Mudpaw struggled to keep up with his more agile brother in the newly created shallows of the river. He scrambled onto a slick, mossy log on the permanent riverbank and dislodged it, sending him floating down stream. This didn't pose as a problem, he could always jump off and swim to the shallows. But since the log was slick, Mudpaw slid backwards instead of leaping into the water. And while he was hoisting himself back up to try again, he didn't notice the large boulder behind him. The log crunched his hind back leg on the stone and broke it into splinters. Mudpaw howled in pain and Otterpaw came back to see what was wrong with his brother. Both apprentices distraught and Mudpaw stranded on the rock with a badly broken leg, Otterpaw went back for help. Mudpaw earned a new name: Driftpaw, for his unfortunate drift down the river. It took moons to heal his leg, but it would forever remain useless. Luckily he had already been nearing the end of his apprenticeship, and after he had learned how to compensate for his leg, he was made a warrior with the suffix "foot" to match his already painful reminder.
Driftfoot later became the mate of Poplarwind and they had three kits. Wasppaw is the only one he feels close to, though, because the other she-cats are like their mother.
